Description
This informative and interactive training course is aimed at keeping experienced safeguarding practitioners up to date with current legislation and best practice, to build both confidence and competency.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or deputy (DDSL) takes lead responsibility for safeguarding children within school, providing advice and support to staff, pupils, families, and multi-agencies.
It is essential that their knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures is relevant, in-depth and up to date. Keeping Children Safe in Education requires the DSL and any DDSLs undergo appropriate training, at least every two years, to provide the knowledge and skills required to carry out their role. The course will provide support on how the impact of changes in statutory safeguarding legislation and best practice guidance affects the role and safeguarding practices within the setting.
Following the training, completion of an Online Training Assessment will be required, to demonstrate understanding of the role and responsibilities.
Those successfully achieving an 80% pass rate will receive a Certificate of Participation, an Information Booklet signposting to latest guidance, additional training and a PDF version of the course slides.
