Keeping Children Safe in Education (2020) states: the Designated Safeguarding lead and any deputies should undergo safeguarding training to provide them with the knowledge and skills required to carry out the role. The training should be updated every two years.
In addition to their formal training as set out above, their knowledge and skills should be updated, (for example via e-bulletins, meeting other designated safeguarding leads, or taking time to read and digest safeguarding developments), at regular intervals, and at least annually, to keep up with any developments relevant to their role.
This 3 hour session is designed for experienced Designated and Deputy Safeguarding Lead's to get together, refresh, update and share best practice around changes to their responsibilities and bring them up to date with any changes in safeguarding legislation and best practice within the past academic year.
Includes an overview of a current specific safeguarding area such as Peer on peer abuse, Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment, Contextual Safeguarding, HSB, CSE...and more
Attendees receive a Participation Certificate.
