Description
Keeping Children Safe in Education states that governing bodies and proprietors should ensure that staff undergo regular updated safeguarding training, including online safety, which includes an understanding of the expectations, applicable roles and responsibilities in relation to filtering and monitoring.
The training should be regularly updated as required, and at least annually, to continue to provide staff with relevant skills and knowledge to safeguard children effectively. Staff should be able to understand the unique risks associated with online safety and be confident that they have the relevant knowledge and up to date capability to recognise the changing platforms. language and challenges associated with online safety.
This 2-hour interactive workshop has been developed in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education, Statutory Framework for Early Years, Teaching Online Safety in School, Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education etc.
Available for onsite and virtual delivery.

Clarify statutory legislation and best practice

Recognise the importance of underpinning knowledge and behaviours, and sources of curriculum support for schools

Consider the possible risks & harms to pupils from the perspective of the 4Cs, and explore the evolving challenge to safety from self-generated sexual abuse, cyberbullying, patterning, consensual and non-consensual image sharing, sextortion, pornography and other harmful content.

To support compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education:

Delegate online assessment which provides your mechanism to evidence your staff/volunteer understanding of the training content and their safeguarding responsibilities. Individual assessments are collated to provide a management report with RAG review to evidence all delegates understanding and identify any gaps in knowledge or individual concerns.
