Are you embarking on becoming your settings Designated Safeguarding Lead, a Deputy Safeguarding Lead, SENCO or part of the Pastoral Staff supporting on matters of safety and safeguarding (including online and digital safety)? Then this 2-day New to Role session is for you!
This training has been developed to provide essential knowledge and understanding of the expectations, responsibilities and duties of Designated and Deputy Safeguarding Lead roles in accordance with the latest guidance: Keeping Children Safe in Education (2019), Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018), Early Years Statutory Framework (2017) and many more…
It will take you through the broad areas of responsibilities and activities related to the Safeguarding Lead role. Providing attendees with support and guidance around statutory legislation and best practice guidance, which affects their new role and safeguarding practices within their setting.
Please note: Designated and Deputy Safeguarding Leads who have already attended a 2-day Designated Safeguarding Lead training should attend our 1-day DSL: 2 Yearly Update session.
Attendees must attend both days. Following the 2-day training attendees will be required to complete an Online Training Assessment to demonstrate their understanding of their role and responsibilities.
All attendees successfully achieving an 80% pass rate will receive a Certificate of Participation.
Timing: 9.30am to 16.30pm on both days.
