Safeguarding and Child Protection Awareness
6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
LocationFloor 2, 1 Market Street
Do you work with children and young people?
Are you aware that you may have a responsibility to:
identify the symptoms and triggers of abuse and neglect?
share that information?
provide children with the help they need?
Only able to find individual safeguarding and child protection training online?
Only able to attend sessions after 5.30pm?
Safeguarding Support Limited have the solution.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play.
In order for those working with children to understand their safeguarding responsibilities, they should attend appropriate safeguarding and child protection training which is regularly updated to develop their knowledge and skills in this area and be aware of the new and emerging threats, including online abuse, grooming, sexual exploitation and radicalisation.
Although no previous knowledge of safeguarding and child protection is required for this 2 ½ hour interactive awareness session, it has been designed to act as a safeguarding awareness refresher session, developed in accordance with:
Keeping Children Safe in Education 2019
Early Years Statutory Framework 2017
Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018
The session is suitable for:
School, nursery and pre-school workers, carers and child-minders
Youth workers, activity leaders and volunteers
Sports leaders and coaches
Church and religious leaders, community workers and volunteers
The session will provide attendees with a greater awareness of emerging safeguarding issues, help them develop a clearer understanding of their safeguarding roles and responsibilities including the changes reflected within the Safeguarding Partners and bring them up to date with the latest statutory and best practice guidance – as well as meeting their safeguarding training requirements!
Timings: 6.30pm – 9.00pm.
All attendees receive a Participation Certificate.
