Description
Keeping Children Safe in Education states that education staff are well placed to observe children day-to-day and identify those children who have suffered adverse childhood experiences of abuse and neglect, recognising that these experiences can have a lasting impact on their behaviour and education.
The ‘toxic trio’ or ‘trio of vulnerabilities’ points to three experiences that have been identified as common features of families where children have been harmed, including violence in the family home, parent/carer mental health and/or substance abuse.
This 2-hour whole school session uses videos, current research, and interactive workshops to increase the confidence of all staff in understanding and recognising the impact of these adverse experiences.
Available for onsite and virtual delivery.
