Restrictive interventions, including use of reasonable force, in schools - expectations and how legislative shifts influence behaviour management and safeguarding approaches

Multi-agency child protection teams: regulation-making powers (outlined in the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill) – consider the expectations for schools around information-sharing, contribution to assessments, and engagement in child protection decision-making

Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill: policy summary – examine what the legislation is seeking to achieve, why it has been introduced, the likely impact of the proposed measures, and how these changes are expected to work in practice.

Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their current safeguarding culture,identify gaps, and plan actionable steps to strengthen policies, procedures, and professional oversight. Throughout, the emphasis will be on clear accountability, transparent processes, and creating environments where children’s voices are prioritised.
