All children deserve a safe, respectful, and supportive environment, particularly those who may be at greater risk of harm due to discrimination, bias, or marginalisation.
This session considers the definitions of Diversity, Equality, Inclusion and Belonging, and how to build a safeguarding culture that ensures all children are visible, heard and protected.
Using a social identity framework and realistic scenarios, the course considers how different aspects of a child’s identity may be less visible or unspoken. By recognising potential blind spots and using an EDI-informed approach all staff can contribute to early identification and support. Reflection then considers how a child’s sense of belonging is a true measure of successful practice
